This study aims to explain the role of the theory of the soul’s substantial and intensifying motion in analyzing and identifying the causes of human behavior from the perspective of Mulla Sadra. The main question is on what ontological basis human behavior can be explained, and whether, instead of relying on external and accidental factors, the roots of actions can be sought in the inner structure and developmental process of the soul as described by Sadra. Using a descriptive–analytical method based on the principles of Transcendent Philosophy, this research examines the issue. The findings show that, according to Sadra, the human soul is a dynamic substance undergoing intensifying motion, moving from lower to higher levels of existence. Human behaviors are manifestations of these existential levels and the degree of the soul’s actualization. Thus, virtuous and rational actions indicate existential intensification and closeness to perfection, while immoral actions reflect weakness in the soul’s existential level. Therefore, analyzing human behavior in this framework is inward-looking and ontological, tracing actions back to the dynamic essence of the soul. The novelty of this study lies in applying Sadra’s theory to the analysis of human behavior and proposing an existential framework for understanding human actions.
